We are a Ford family. If you don’t like Fords, you can move onto another post. But frankly, I was fed up with Fords a couple of years ago. I had an old 2002 Explorer I loved; but I knew it was dying.
We had the transmission replaced; but still, at over 145,000 miles, it was hurting and it scared me. For my 60th birthday, my husband surprised me with a 2012 Ford Edge. I was both thrilled and mortified. The new car was gorgeous and exactly what I secretly wanted. But the idea of a car payment upset me. Good news was my husband paid for it. And the car is amazing. Yes, I love the techie stuff the best – the way I can say the name of my friend and it dials her number, as in, “Call Kathy.” Although it asks me if I want to call Kathy on cell or at home. And if I want to listen to my favorite radio station, I just say, “Margaritaville.” Cool. Plus I have a fabulous sunroof and moonroof. Honestly, I think Ford listened to Boomers in focus groups. Easy to get in and out of. It’s comfy for people in the back seat. Go check out this car if you are interested in a great, small SUV with attitude and good gas mileage.
