As my readers know, whatever questions or random thoughts come to my mind on any given day can become a topic for this blog. Today I am thinking about my recent stint in the “horsepital” – which is “hospital” for those who don’t speak “Gary”. I just got my invoice and I have MANY questions.
An “ECG Interpretation” cost $33; but because it was interpreted at night, they hit me with a “night service surcharge” of an additional $33. I find myself wondering how stuff like this will work with Obamacare.
One of the medical companies won’t send me a written bill because they are “green.” The “greenies” have a computerized voice that calls me and says I need to look for an email with an online link where I can go to make my payment to them. Shades of “Hal” in 2001: A Space Odyssey. I can’t put into words what I think of this online bill-paying system, nor can I articulate a decent response to what it costs to be in Cardiac ICU for four days after the hospital makes a mistake to send me there, so I’ll take a few more deep breaths and move on to another subject.
Why doesn’t PETA go after vegetarians and vegans instead of just women wearing fur coats? These humans eat all the fruits, vegetables, grains, etc., that animals need to sustain themselves. What are they trying to do, starve the animals to death? I’m considering a boycott of vegetarian restaurants and stores. If you think I’m on a rambling rant, you’re right. And I do have vegetarian friends so I would ask that PETA refrain from throwing ketchup or tomato sauce on them.
The good news about me being on a rant is that I’m still vertical and looking down at the grass rather than up at the roots after my recent stay in the “horsepital”. One of my medications is to be taken in the evening after a “low calorie snack,” so last night I had only one piece of fudge instead of three before taking my pill.
Now, back to the Bowl games…
